In this uncertain season of the Corona Virus pandemic it is easy to be overwhelmed by “What if…?” In today’s message find out how to avoid being paralyzed by “What if…?” and how PC3 is adjusting to “What is” while still keeping people connected.
In a few short weeks our lives have changed. Sports and entertainment events have been suspended, schools shut down, and many things we take for granted aren’t as accessible because of the Corona Virus. But more than this there is a sense of fear, of anxiety, blanketing our nation and the world. If we aren’t careful, it will blanket us as the Church too. It will blind us to the truth and bind us to a lie if we let it. Watch today’s message to discover why and how we can live and act in complete freedom and peace regardless of our circumstance.
Freedom: Galatians 3
There is no performance based Christianity. It’s not about what you do. It’s about what Jesus has given to you.
God’s standards never change, but when we try to keep them we fail. Careless words, thoughts, attitudes, and actions mount up against us. Where is the promised freedom? Watch today’s message and discover the answer.
Freedom: Galatians 1
We sin because we believe a lie. We trust in something else rather than to trust in God.
Today we worshiped through music with the following songs: Here I Am to Worship Set A Fire-Will Reagan I Will Rest in You
Football Sunday 2020
Football Sunday 2020 featuring stories from members of the 49ers and Chiefs as well as NFL players Benjamin Watson, Prince Amukamara and Nate Solder sharing how God has moved profoundly in their lives.
Rest: Silence and Solitude
Even Jesus needed silence and solitude and retreated to quiet places. Shouldn’t we? Consider small changes-turning off TV for 1 hour/night, spend 10 minutes in your car during lunch, drive home without turning on the radio, visit a park/beach, etc. Silence and solitude allows us to be present to God and present to other people.
Shopping is now the #1 American leisure activity, taking the place of previous #1 – religion. Social media influencers are the new priests/preistesses of this culture which worships by double clicking to accumulate more stuff. The average American gets rid of more than 65 lbs of clothes every year. 25% of people with 2 car garages can’t park in them because they’re filled with stuff. This is exactly the opposite of how Jesus speaks of a life of peace, the way of contentment, and where our devotion should be directed. Watch today’s message to learn how we got here and what will help us recover from the chaos and stress this kind of lifestyle will cause.
“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13 (NLTSE)
Today’s message focuses on the people Christ gave as founding gifts to PC3 and the impact they have had on this church and others in the community as they transition into the next stage of God’s plan for them.
We love you, Billy and Kim Wight!
